
Yes sir, the Circus came to town. Some of the kids feed, watered, and walked the animals to get their free pass to the show. Another event was the Movie in the Park. Just like in the modern era! These folks on the left are standing in front ot the store on the south side of the tracks. The new depot is on the left next to the tracks.
Luke and Doris Hamlin retired in Lake George. Their home was on Shingle Lake. Luke played professional baseball for a short time with the Detroit Tigers and a lengthy stay with the Brooklyn Dodgers. To learn more just click on Hamlin listed upper left of this page.

A photo of the Welty Cabin. This cabin was located north of town and west. Magdalena Welty became Mrs. Norman Tolson. They both retired in Lake George. Both had Art Careers before retiring here. The cabin was one of the early log cabins in this area. For many residents of the area it was the hill not far from the cabin that was the attraction during the winter.
